Today, the city I live in recovered a missing girl, and the tip leading to her safe return was received using the Wireless Amber Alert system. This has the potential to save lives, people. Sign up! Sign up!
ETA: By the way, the text messages are free and sent to you via your wireless carrier itself. You will not be charged for this service.
Spreading the word. The Amber Alert System (at least, in Ohio) is an extremely powerful network that’s absolutely amazing to watch spring to life. Highway signs, electronic billboards, TV and Radio stations (through the Emergency Alert System) all react at the press of a button to deliver extremely time-sensitive information (Of course, sometimes the person pushing that button isn’t all too bright, but it happens). It’s saved more than one kid, and it’ll save countless others.
